Build To Battle
The world of Snaps Ships revolves around a building system that utilizes a simple snap-in connection which locks each highly detailed pieces into one another. This simple, yet robust, connections always for countless configurations and endless rebuildability.
The System.
The Snap Ships system revolves around three major pieces. A simple, core cube, frame builders, and a handful of grebes. With a soft inner and a hard outer, each piece is able to snap together to quickly create any imaginable design.
Dualing Factions.
In any battle, it is always good vs. evil. The Forge is the readied and able group, doing everything in their power to protect, while the Komplex endlessly pushes for total domination. The Forge’s crew consists of five decorated members, each with a defining personality and ability to handle battles tough scenarios. They all must work together to continue the war against the evil Komplex warriors.
Creation Process
A fast and loose approach built Snap Ships. Initial form studies found the basic shapes and was followed quickly with CAD iterations. As a ship started to take form, 3D printing and simple sketch overs helped define the overall details and made the final CAD work more of a streamlined process. Jumping quickly into CAD to refine the silhouette, for most parts, was beneficial to not overthink the minor details and to keep to major forms a top priority.
